Who is AutoFlight? AutoFlight is a Chinese aviation startup that specializes in electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Recently, the company set a new record for the longest eVTOL flight, showcasing the capabilities of its technology.

In February 2023, AutoFlight’s eVTOL prototype ‘Prosperity I’ flew for 155 miles on a single lithium-ion battery charge, claiming the world record for longest recorded flight for an Electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

The record-setting flight demonstrated the potential of eVTOL aircraft for a range of applications, making it a practical and efficient solution for a variety of industries, including sustainable aviation. Although the record was set without the added weight of passengers, it is still a noteworthy accomplishment. The achievement serves as a strong validation of Autoflight’s range capabilities and highlights the technological advancements of the company.

AutoFlight is not the only company developing eVTOL aircrafts, and the eVTOL industry is still in its early stages, however this achievement showcases the potential of eVTOL technology and paves the way for further innovation in the aviation industry. As the industry continues to develop, we may see more breakthroughs like this that pave the way for a more sustainable and efficient future in aviation. Flygreen is especially excited for the implications that this type of technology will have in regards to fully electric aircrafts. Stay tuned for more!
